This course of study is a full 1200 clock hour SPA therapy course. We use the Aveda Curriculum and Milady's Theory and Practice of Therapeutic Massage and Esthetic curriculums, which includes chapters on Historical Overview of Massage, Requirements for the Practice of Therapeutic Massage, Professional Ethics for Massage Practitioners, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Effects/Benefits/Indications/Contraindications, Sanitary/Safety, Consultation, Classification, Massage Techniques, Procedures, Face/Scalp Massage, Hydrotherapy/Massage for Nursing/Healthcare, Athletic, Specialized, and Therapetic Exercise. The course also includes health and care of the skin and upon graduation, the student will be eligible to take Vermont's Esthetics state board exam. Massage is not yet licensed in Vermont, but we prepare our students to sit for the National Certification in massage. Our SpaTherapy course covers units in both practical and theory application.
